By re-mixing trim parts used in the more sporting Escorts, adding a vinyl roof, thick pile carpets, square halogen lights and finishing the whole project by making it available in a range of striking colours such as Venetian Gold or the Purple Velvet modelled here, they were able to ask -ú1180 for the 1800E at a time when the range started at -ú807.
