Introduced onto the BR network in 1951, the 'Britannia' which was the first of its class of 48, was designed for mixed traffic work. The Super Detailed Hornby model which features a BR Type I tender, sprung buffers, correct type cylinder block and pony truck, glazed cab, plus an abundance of additional detailing. The Hornby model also includes the larger boiler dome which was a feature if the prototype after modification.
