Class 37 has a well earned reputation for being a versatile loco with the original design having the ability to traverse almost every line on the system. Thus it was no surprise when Network Rail sourced and over hauled four machines for use on the Cambrian Line which was chosen as a trial route for a new signalling system known as the European Railway Traffic Management system. The locos have been a common sight on test in pairs and will be based at Shrewsbury from the autumn.
