Corgi OM46101 Plaxton Paragon "Felix Coaches"
Product Description
This item has a limited edition certificate included.
Felix Bus Services was started in 1922 by Mr Norman Frost, operating a Crossley lorry to carry coal during the week, and after adding seats to the rear of the vehicle, carrying miners and their families at weekends. He operated from Stanley village, between Derby and Ilkeston, and when many asked what he would call his first coach, he decided to use the name Felix from the popular song of the day GÇÿFelix Kept on WalkingGÇÖ. The first coaches were mainly Crossley lorry chassis with passenger bodies by Yeates or Willowbrook of Loughborough, and a black cat emblem was applied to the body sides. In 1937, a new garage was built on Station Rd, Stanley, and the operating centre is still in use today. The present fleet includes Scania, Volvo and Optare service buses and Volvo and Iveco coaches. A full holiday programme to most UK resorts and the continent is operated each year, together with a variety of interesting excursions. The Plaxton Paragon coach was purchased in March 2006, it is fitted with 53 seats and full air conditioning, and is used for the holiday tours and excursions programme.
